| Trompe l’oeil literally means “to trick the eye”. What fun to discover that the fabulous marble coffee table you’ve been admiring is nothing more than a painted up piece of pine. A faux crown molding can go unnoticed at first, because the eye assumes that it’s viewing a three-dimensional object.
